Why Vornado?
You Ask. We Answer.
There are some questions that arise frequently when it comes to Vornado product. I wanted to take a minute to answer these as concisely as possible…
Is A Vornado Worth The Extra Money?
Absolutely. When you purchase a Vornado, you are buying a product that will last for years- if not decades. It is designed and engineered in Andover, KS with years of research supporting its design. In terms of function, a Vornado is superior to any other product on the market. Vornado’s signature Vortex Action circulates all the air in the room – meaning it makes a much bigger difference in the overall comfort of the room than other fans- which are designed to only move the air immediately in front of them. Why is A Vornado More Expensive Than Other Fans?
There’s a big difference in the price of a Vornado vs. other fans in the market… And there’s a good reason as to why this is the case.
Vornado fans are built with high quality components that cost more, but translate to long term durability and reliability. Every Vornado fan is custom designed to ensure the maximum performance regardless of size. All Vornado products are designed and engineered from our headquarters in Andover, Kansas. Instead of sourcing “pre-designed” products out of China, Vornado controls all aspects of design and engineering- ensuring that performance is always up to Vornado standards.
What makes a Vornado Different From Other Fans?
A Vornado Whole Room Circulator features 4 key elements that are completely unique to Vornado products, and combined, create Vortex Action. The first element is called the “Inlet Air Acccelerator”- which is a special inlet that is placed inline with where air flows into the blades. The Air Accelerator helps route air flow to the most efficient part of the blades, helping to increase the volume of air moved. The second element is called “deep pitch blade” - which refers to a Vornado’s wide, heavily contoured blade design. Deep pitch blades maximize the amount of air moved with each turn of the powerful motor.
The third key element in vortex action is the the Fully Ducted Blade design requirement. By ensuring that the blade is fully enclosed in a cylindrical duct, the airflow is shaped into a column, or “beam” of air that is able to travel long distances, and powers through hot and cold zones. The final element is perhaps the most distinguishable element on a Vornado- the spiral shaped grill. While many think the AirTensity grill is just a design element, it actually plays a critical role in creating Vortex Action. The AirTensity Grill offsets the direction of the air as it twists off the blades- this allows the air to travel long distances, for true whole room circulation. Next time you are shopping, check out the fan section. You will notice shallow, narrow blades, cheap plastic and no trace of the engineering components that are featured on a Vornado Circulator. The difference is plain to see, and feel.
Why Is Whole Room Circulation Important?
Poor circulation in the home results in uncomfortable hot and cold zones and stagnant air. Vornado’s unique design sculpts air into a high velocity column that blends these zones as the air flows along the walls, floor and ceiling surfaces. Air is then drawn back into the circulator, completing and repeating the “air flow cycle.” By circulating all of the air in the room, a balanced and comfortable temperature is achieved. Any other fan on the market is only intended to circulate the air around it, so you must be in the direct path of the fan to experience any of its cooling effects. A Vornado, on the other hand- is able to create a comfortable environment throughout the entire room so everyone in the space can be comfortable. To see how Whole Room Circulation works - click here.
How Does A Vornado Save Me Money?
Vornado circulators are so effective, that the human body perceives up to a 4 degree temperature drop just by the circulator operating in the room. This means that you could turn your Air Conditioner setting to a hotter temperature, which saves electricity. Also, a Vornado is perfect for maintaining a comfortable temperature in one room, for example- your bedroom at night, your kitchen while you cook, or in the living room while you relax. A central air conditioner, on the other hand, is constantly trying to keep your whole home the same temperature- regardless of whether or not you are in the room. By cooling only the room you are in, a Vornado can help you cut down electricity bills dramatically.
